Are your underwater metals protected properly?  Corrosion can cause implications in both safety & maintenance.  We can help you understand your boat’s current configuration and whether you should upgrade or add to your existing bonding system.  If you have an aluminum or steel hull, this is critical a component of your electrical system.  If done incorrectly, bonding can actually increase the odds of damaging important (and expensive) underwater fittings.

If you are seeing signs of corrosion such as bubbling paint, pink in underwater bronze metals, or rapidly consumed anodes, something is amiss and should be addressed immediately to protect your investment.  If you are completing an electrical refit or adding new underwater fittings, you should revisit this all-important component of the boat’s wiring.

Included in this service group we will provide you with the following:

  • An assessment & troubleshooting of the existing bonding circuit and recommendations for improvements to protect your boat against galvanic corrosion & stray-currstray-currents.
  • Rcommendations & instructions for installing through-hulls and seacocks based on hull material.
  • We will size sacrificial anodes and recommend optimal locations.
  • We will ensure that the bonding system is tied into your boat’s DC ground and provide wire sizes, lengths, and terminations.
  • All recommendations will be in accordance with ABYC guidelines.

How to choose a service level:

  • If you suspect you have a problem with your current bonding system or think you may have an issue with stray current corrosion, we recommend starting with Service Level 1: Design Consultation.
  • If you would like professional design consultation for a new bonding & cathodic protection system or help to make changes to the current configuration, as well as a custom wiring diagram and equipment list, choose Service Level 2: Design and Diagrams.
  • If you would like a custom design, wiring diagram, equipment list, and a detailed bill of materials listing exact quantities of wire, connectors, conduits, and enclosures, select Level 3: Design Build Installation.
